<\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>May 14, 2021 (Toronto, ON) <\/b><\/span>\u2013 The Coordinated Accessible National (CAN) Health Network and the Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation (CABHI)<\/a>, powered by Baycrest, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding confirming their plans to work together to promote the adoption of Canadian technology that will enhance the delivery of healthcare in older adults. Today, they are launching their first joint initiative, with an open Appel \u00e0 l\u2019innovation<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n The CAN Health Network works directly with healthcare operators to identify their biggest challenges and partner them with Canadian-made technology solutions. The ultimate goal is to enable Canadian companies to be rapidly validated, procured, and scaled across the country and abroad.<\/p>\n CABHI, a solution accelerator focused on driving innovation in the aging and brain sector, will introduce scalable, market-ready agetech and healthtech companies to the Network through their Mentorship, Capital and Continuation<\/a> (MC2) program, presented in partnership with National Bank.<\/p>\n With today\u2019s joint Call for Innovation, one successful health tech company will receive an opportunity to demonstrate their solution\u2019s benefits via a commercialization project with a CAN Health Network member (known as an Edge). At the conclusion of the project, all Edges will have an opportunity to purchase the solution through a competitive process. The company may also receive an investment and tailored acceleration services from CABHI.<\/p>\n \u201cAs our country continues the fight against COVID-19, Canadian agetech companies are ready to play a significant role in helping reopen our national economy and simultaneously provide much-needed support to older adults\u2014the population hit hardest by this pandemic.
