<\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>System partners developing evidence-based business cases to accelerate adoption of high potential, home-grown health innovations.<\/span> Le prix R\u00e9seau de sant\u00e9 coordonn\u00e9 accessible et national (CAN)<\/a> is partnering with the Edmonton-based Institute of Health Economics (IHE)<\/a> to ensure the Network\u2019s companies can access the evidence they need to prove the value of their innovations, while giving health systems, the data and analysis to make informed purchasing decisions.<\/p>\n CAN Health and IHE have agreed to establish a mutual referral system for Canadian health tech companies to support the economic evaluation of promising solutions, while connecting companies to the Network for the consideration of evidence-informed adoption by Edges. IHE has developed a unique service offering to support health care companies with economic modelling and evidence development. This can be leveraged to define the health system investment case for innovative solutions through the use of clinical data, literature, and input from key experts.<\/p>\n \u201cAt the IHE, we are focused on increasing value for money in the development and adoption of innovative solutions, and generating evidence that meet the needs of health system decision-makers,\u201d said Dr. Chris McCabe, CEO of the IHE. \u201cWorking with CAN Health Network, we hope to provide evidence that ensures technology adoption decisions are evidence-based, and reflect the best use of limited health system resources when introducing new promising solutions of value to patients.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe addition of IHE\u2019s expertise to CAN Health will be an invaluable asset to our projects throughout their lifecycle. As we work to drive procurement across Canada for homegrown innovations that solve pressing health care issues, the IHE\u2019s economic modelling service is an excellent complement to the offerings the Network can provide to support our companies. This gives them key data to prove the effectiveness of their solutions, while providing our Edges with the evidence they need to purchase with confidence,\u201d says Dr. Dante Morra, Chair and Lead, CAN Health Network. <\/p>\n The CAN Health Network is a federally-funded integrated market which reduces barriers to procurement so health tech companies can quickly and easily bring their innovations to the health care sector. IHE\u2019s economic modeling can serve as a key resource for decision-making within the Network\u2019s Edges. In creating a quantified business case, and even further, an Evidence Development Plan, which uses real-world or trial data, companies can generate greater interest and reduce barriers for access to health systems wishing to make evidence-based purchases to solve the challenges they are facing.<\/p>\n ABOUT THE INSTITUTE OF HEALTH ECONOMICS<\/b><\/p>\n The Institute of Health Economics is an independent, not-for-profit organization with key competencies in health economics, health technology assessment, and knowledge transfer\/exchange.
