Au d\u00e9but de la pand\u00e9mie, des milliers de cas se d\u00e9veloppaient chaque jour au Canada. L\u2019identification rapide des cas \u00e9tait, et est toujours, primordiale pour arr\u00eater la propagation du virus, car elle permet d\u2019isoler les patients (\u00e0 domicile ou \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4pital) afin d\u2019\u00e9viter toute nouvelle transmission. Cependant, au cours des premiers moments de la COVID-19, les tests rapides \u00e9taient extr\u00eamement limit\u00e9s et le d\u00e9lai d\u2019ex\u00e9cution pouvait atteindre cinq jours. C\u2019est l\u00e0 que la biosurveillance de pr\u00e9cision entre en jeu :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Precision Biomonitoring offre des outils et des services d\u2019analyse de l\u2019ADN au point d\u2019intervention pour l\u2019identification d\u2019organismes cibles dans les environnements aquatiques et terrestres. En f\u00e9vrier 2020, ils ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d\u2019adapter leur technologie pour fabriquer des trousses de d\u00e9pistage de la COVID-19 au point d\u2019intervention. Ce test rapide au point d\u2019intervention peut identifier les cas de mani\u00e8re fiable et \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 par les fournisseurs de soins de sant\u00e9 avec une formation minimale et sans risque de bios\u00e9curit\u00e9. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019\u00e9quipe du laboratoire de Sunnybrook Health Sciences a travaill\u00e9 en \u00e9troite collaboration avec la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 pour valider la solution \u00e0 la fois en laboratoire et en milieu clinique. De plus, l\u2019Institut de recherche de St. Joe\u2019s Hamilton a travaill\u00e9 directement avec Precision Biomonitoring pour soutenir l\u2019introduction du test rapide au Canada. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019entreprise a d\u00e9j\u00e0 annonc\u00e9 qu\u2019elle apporterait son dispositif de d\u00e9tection rapide mobile aux communaut\u00e9s indig\u00e8nes du nord de l\u2019Ontario, en r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 la COVID-19. Le d\u00e9lai actuel pour obtenir des r\u00e9sultats dans une Premi\u00e8re nation typique est d\u2019une semaine \u00e0 10 jours; avec ce test au point de service, ils pouvaient obtenir des r\u00e9sultats en une heure, ce qui permettait aux fournisseurs de soins de sant\u00e9 de prendre des d\u00e9cisions de traitement optimales en temps opportun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le projet \u00e9tait unique pour le R\u00e9seau de sant\u00e9 CAN, car le R\u00e9seau travaille g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement avec des entreprises dont les produits sont \u00e0 un stade plus avanc\u00e9 et elles n\u2019attendent pas d\u2019approbation r\u00e9glementaire. Cependant, \u00e0 la suite de la pand\u00e9mie, le R\u00e9seau a vu la possibilit\u00e9 d\u2019aider une entreprise canadienne \u00e0 r\u00e9agir et \u00e0 soutenir les essais. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
