April 29, 2025 (Oakville, ON) – The CAN Health Network is excited to partner with CareWay, the Canadian-based medical assistant powered by AI to streamline clinician workflows by generating medical notes and completing forms directly from consultations.

In today’s health care environment, clinicians face significant administrative burdens that take valuable time away from patient care. According to the Ontario Medical Association, family doctors spend 19 hours per week – nearly 40% of their time – on administrative tasks, including four hours writing notes or completing forms for patients. This inefficiency can contribute to burnout and compromise the quality of care.

CareWay is addressing this challenge with its innovative AI-powered medical assistant that automatically generates medical documentation and completes forms during consultations with patients. Using the built-in microphone on any device (computer, tablet and phone), the tool does not require any download time and is as simple as requesting consent and recording the meeting. It is estimated that physicians using CareWay see one additional patient per hour on average, and save two hours per day on note-taking, leading to a 20-30% increase in productivity.

In February 2025, CareWay became the first AI health scribe to obtain TGV certification from Sante Quebec. This certification recognizes CareWay’s technology as a reliable, compliant and secure solution, aligned with the requirements of the Quebec health network.

CareWay was recently acquired by Medfar – developer of the leading electronic medical record platform MYLE, which facilitates 25 million patient appointments annually in North America. Medfar integrates CareWay’s technology in MYLE in 2025, marking the first step in a broader transformation to apply AI across all MYLE functionalities. CareWay will also remain available as a standalone solution.

As part of the CAN Health Network, CareWay will work with leading healthcare providers across Canada to integrate its AI-powered medical assistant into clinical workflows. This collaboration will help enhance efficiency, reduce clinician burnout, and allow healthcare professionals to focus more on patient care.
