February 17, 2022 (Edmonton, Alberta) – The CAN Health Network continues to grow with the addition of Alberta’s Covenant Health, one of Canada’s largest Catholic healthcare providers. In support of the Government of Alberta’s vision for health care transformation, Covenant Health’s newly formed Innovation Office will work with the CAN Health Network to access cutting-edge solutions that have the potential to significantly improve patient care, not only across Alberta, but the whole country.
The CAN Health Network is a federally funded integrated market working to introduce more Canadian companies and innovation into Canada’s healthcare system. By partnering with healthcare organizations across the country, such as Covenant Health, CAN Health aims to quickly validate solutions and reduce barriers to procurement. With over 17 facilities across Alberta, Covenant Health plays a critical role in the province’s integrated healthcare system and is committed to advancing patient care with new, innovative medical technology solutions.
This partnership makes Covenant Health one of six CAN Health Edges in the West, including Alberta Health Services, Fraser Health Authority, Saskatchewan Health Authority, Shared Health, and Vancouver Coastal Health.
“Through the CAN Health Network, Covenant now has access to a unique and exclusive ecosystem of Canadian technology companies, allowing them to implement new medtech solutions more quickly than ever before. This addition to the Network will strengthen our Western region and advance patient care across the country, while helping a greater number of Canadian companies scale.” – Dr. Dante Morra, Chair, CAN Health Network
“We are excited to now officially join the Network and be able to reimagine the way we do things by challenging the status quo — making a difference — to contribute value to Albertans and beyond. To us, it is so important to collaborate across the ecosystem and grow an impactful network that will help us achieve our goals. This is the core of who we are, as our mission calls us to empower our people as well as to move towards a sustainable future for health care in the province.” – Conny Avila, Chief Innovation Officer, Covenant
