Problem Statement and Objective(s)

Problem Statement: THP has identified a lack of awareness of their Insight Health Solutions (IHS) extended healthcare benefit (EHB)-funded health services for their employees. This lack of awareness has led to a low adoption rate and a missed opportunity to capture a portion of the EHB spend as a revenue stream. THP is seeking a technology solution to provide easy access and increased awareness for these services amongst their employees.

Objectives: Implementing a digital solution that increases employee awareness and uptake of THP EHB-funded health and wellness services. The proposed solution should look like a marketplace for employee services.

Desired outcomes and considerations

Essential (mandatory) outcomes
The proposed solution must:

  1. 10% increased adoption of IHS rehabilitation services from THP staff, professional staff, learners.
  2. 3-5% increased utilization of THP retail pharmacy from THP staff, professional staff, learners.
  3. Additional revenue captured from the introduction of new services (e.g. dental, vision, mental health, etc.).
  4. User satisfaction with platform (85% approval).
  5. Partner satisfaction with platform (86% approval).
  6. Profitability of partners model (15-30% profit margin).

Additional outcomes

  1. Decrease in employee durations of disability and absence.

The maximum duration for a project resulting from this Challenge is: 12 months

Background and context

THP has over 15,000 employees, learners and professional staff across its multiple buildings and sites. THP values its employees and their health and offers employees access to EHB-funded health services at its sites.

THP has identified low awareness of the availability of the in-house services, low adoption and no technology solution to provide easy access to IHS health services and a credentialed provider network.

Additionally, capturing a portion of the EHB spend by employees generates a revenue stream to THP through IHS services.
