Cyno Health’s virtual marketplace makes it easier for people to find the services they need

March 27, 2024 (Oakville, ON) – Through a partnership made possible by the Coordinated Accessible National (CAN) Health Network, a national organization working to introduce more Canadian innovation into Canada’s health care system, Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services is partnering with Cyno Health – a Newfoundland and Labrador-based health technology platform for corporate wellness. The initiative aims to evaluate Cyno’s solution to enhance employee mental and physical well-being through a holistic suite of wellness services.

NL Health Services is testing Cyno Health’s solution as part of a CAN Health commercialization project – a six-month process where NL Health Services will be able to explore, customize and validate the digital platform to evaluate its impact on employee wellness.

As health-care organizations across the country continue to face staffing challenges, health benefits are an important component of an employee’s overall compensation package and help to attract and retain talent in a competitive market.

“NL Health Services is pleased to partner on this innovative solution which aims to help our employees obtain access to various mental and physical wellness supports,” said Debbie Molloy, vice president Human Resources, NL Health Services. “Health care workers have demanding jobs and we want to offer supportive resources whenever we can. It is our hope that providing them with the right type of wellness supports will contribute to their overall wellbeing and this, in turn, will help towards retaining and recruiting health care workers.”

The project with Cyno is tailored specifically for NL Health Services’ employees throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, offering them a unique wellness benefit package. Leveraging Cyno Health’s innovative platform, employees will gain access to a sophisticated booking system, allowing them to easily search and conveniently schedule sessions and appointments with their preferred wellness service providers in virtual one-on-one and group formats.

“We’re excited to partner with NL Health Services to prioritize the well-being of its employees,” said Peter Barbour, CEO, Cyno Health. “This strategic alliance aligns with our mission to make holistic wellness accessible and personalized. Together, we hope to foster a happy and healthy culture among NL Health Services employees.”

Cyno is designed to reduce wait times, eliminate transportation barriers, and bring a diverse range of wellness services to employees’ fingertips. The platform provides a wide range of services, including mental wellness counseling, injury rehabilitation assessments, fitness and nutrition guidance, natural health and financial wellness.

“The CAN Health Network is excited to see this collaboration between NL Health Services and Cyno Health,” said Dr. Dante Morra, Founder and Chair, CAN Health Network. “This commercialization project is a great opportunity for Cyno’s innovative platform to meet the health and wellness needs of NL Health Services’ hard-working employees.”

“The last few years have presented a variety of challenges for healthcare workers across the country. This partnership between NL Health Services and Cyno Health is coming at a critical time, where it has never been more important to provide mental and physical well-being support to our healthcare professionals,” said The Honourable Rechie Valdez, Minister of Small Business. “I am very proud of the work that our government is doing through the CAN Health Network to support our healthcare workers, while encouraging homegrown innovation and giving made-in-Canada technology an opportunity to thrive.”

The CAN Health Network provides Canadian companies like Cyno with access to real health-care environments where they can implement their market-ready solutions, gain valuable feedback from end-users and scale across the network and beyond.
