ExpeFlow Inc.’s innovative technology to improve staff and patient safety

January 16, 2024 – CASA Mental Health, one of the largest providers of mental health services for children and youth in Alberta, is thrilled to announce its partnership with Canadian-based ExpeFlow Inc. – a leader in designing secure, automated digital solutions. This partnership, made possible through the Coordinated Accessible National (CAN) Health Network, is designed to streamline and simplify incident reporting at CASA, enhancing patient safety and quality of care.

This innovative digital solution aims to improve the reporting, management and tracking of workplace and patient safety incidents at CASA, replacing the current lengthy and manual process which can lead to an underreporting of incidents by patients and staff. “This partnership is a testament to CASA’s commitment to using cutting-edge technology to improve care,” said CASA CEO Bonnie Blakley. “This tool will make it easier to report and respond to incidents at a faster pace, provide staff the tools they need to deliver exceptional care, and support a culture of continuous improvement.”

“Incident reporting is a critical part of mitigating risk, reducing harm and fostering transparency and continuous improvement,” said Terry Stepien, CEO, ExpeFlow Inc. “We are thrilled to partner with a leader in mental health care using advanced technology to empower staff, enhance incident response, and improve safety and patient care while freeing up time for clinicians to focus on patient care. This collaboration exemplifies the positive impact that technology can have on the delivery of essential mental health services.”

The CAN Health Network is a federally-funded organization that works directly with the country’s leading health care operators to identify their biggest challenges, and match them with Canadian-made technology solutions. “It’s exciting to see Canadian innovators working with health care providers to address challenges facing health care in this country,” said Dr. Dante Morra, Chair, CAN Health Network. “We are thrilled that the Network is bringing uniquely Canadian solutions to improve the quality and care of mental health services for youth.”

The CAN Health Network provides Canadian companies with access to real health care environments where they can implement their market-ready solutions, gain valuable feedback from end-users and scale across the Network and beyond.
