October 1, 2024 (Oakville, ON) – The Coordinated Accessible National (CAN) Health Network is pleased to announce a new partnership with PolySense Solutions – a Winnipeg-based company offering comprehensive, real-time monitoring and management of all critical lab equipment, with a particular expertise in cold storage.

Health care organizations are responsible for monitoring vital medications, biological materials, reagents, and other essential equipment across their laboratories and facilities. Many health care organizations still rely on manual methods to monitor these environments, leading to delayed detection of disruptions and risking the integrity of stored materials and equipment.

PolySense offers an innovative, cloud-based solution that tracks environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, CO2 levels, door status, and inventory across critical lab equipment, including cold storage, incubators, and lab spaces. Their patent-pending cold storage monitor is equipped with a door sensor to better understand utilization patterns and immediately alert staff if doors are left open, helping prevent temperature fluctuations and ensuring the integrity of stored materials.

Through the CAN Health Network, PolySense is partnering with Shared Health Manitoba on a commercialization project to transform the management and monitoring of their essential cold storage equipment. With PolySense’s monitoring in place, Shared Health Manitoba aims to better safeguard valuable materials and reduce lab disruptions, equipment downtime, and energy consumption. PolySense also serves clients in the US and Canada, including ISO 13485 and ISO 17025 certified labs, further demonstrating their commitment to compliance and quality.
