October, 3, 2023 (Toronto, ON)The Coordinated Accessible National (CAN) Health Network is working with Aetonix, a London-based health care technology company, to improve the care journey for health care professionals and patients through its virtual care platform – aTouchAway™.

Founded in 2014, Aetonix’s mission is to address the increasing demands for caregiving solutions in the health care space. aTouchAway™ improves patient outcomes through virtual communication, remote patient monitoring, care plan management, and clinical workflows. Now, through its partnership with CAN Health, Aetonix has the opportunity to work with some of Canada’s leading health care organizations to apply and further advance its solution.

“CAN Health is pleased to partner with Aetonix and support the growth of this made-in-Canada solution that is improving patient care,” says Dr. Dante Morra, Chair, CAN Health Network.

The CAN Health Network is a federally funded national organization working to introduce more Canadian innovation into Canada’s health care system. The Network works with Canadian health care operators, referred to as Edges, to identify their biggest challenges and match them with Canadian-made technology solutions. By partnering Canadian companies directly with health care operators, CAN Health enables these companies and their solutions to be rapidly validated, procured, and scaled across the Network.

Aetonix is currently working in partnership with the CAN Health Network to explore the benefits and improved outcomes for patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (“COPD”), by using aTouchAway™ to improve post-discharge access to care.

“COPD is the leading cause of hospitalizations in Canada. Despite advances in care that improve quality of life and reduce readmission, less than 1% of COPD patients have access to such programs. Aetonix is excited that its platform, with the unique ability to build and use customized care pathways, is being used to study the impact on patients’ quality of life and self-management, while reducing potentially unnecessary hospital readmissions,” says Michel Paquet, CEO and Founder, Aetonix.

Aetonix’s platform has been effective in improving the care experience among patients diagnosed with COPD, Congestive Heart Failure (“CHF”), Diabetes Mellitus (“DM”), and other challenging diseases.
